Today's review will be of the artist simply called 'Wolf'.
A simple check of the forum indicates they also go by 'sexygalacaffeine' and hail from Luxembourg.
Google then revealed their home site. http://serygalacaffeine.com/eine-seite/

Wolf's models are well priced, with a few free offerings. They tend towards a dark fantasy slant. Many are of medium poly count, which works well for most games created with reloaded. The models appear to typically not come with LOD enabled and are fairly simplistic in many cases. This is not necessarily a negative as they will tend to match many other art assets available from older FPSC (Classic) packages and community made packages.
Some of the newer models are decidedly not my cup of tea but do show a genuine slant towards innovative thinking which cannot be discounted. These are most notably
The colors and texturing are reasonably well done though all are completely original pieces, as far as I can tell. That alone goes a long way towards improving the quality of your game. As designers, our biggest difficulty will be overcoming the hurtle of using the stock model sets. Artists like this offer us significant departures from those elementary building blocks to give our projects the individuality we so crave.
One thing I'm very happy with is the use of color. It seems like a significant amount of model makers are too enthusiastic about their color choices, resulting in palettes on purchased objects that seem out of place. This is NOT the case with Wolf's models. They are all tone-appropriate towards all the pieces you receive from TGC.
What one item can I not live without: If I had to pick just one model to own, I'd pick the Asian storefront.
I absolutely love the versatility of this model for modern day city environments. The addition of English verbiage is a nice touch to ensure compatibility with scenes that are not from the far east. It also gives a touch of comedy to the game through skillful use of 'Engrish'.
Now that said, if I was making a fantasy game I'd absolutely go for the 'arkane' table.
This is a FANTASTIC set piece with a ton of detail. Unfortunately given my lack of utility for it, I have avoided it. But that said, if you're planning any kind of occult or fantasy angle it would easily skyrocket to the top as a choice.
So there's a few options there. Both vary in price but are quite affordable as commercially available models go.
The bottom line: Quality set pieces, low poly count (if framerate is a concern for you) - all reasonably priced. Please be sure to visit wolf's store and check out all the fine offerings, especially if you're looking for fantasy or occult set pieces.
